My trip to the coast

I went and visitied Danny yesterday and right when I got there her took me south of the railroad tracks and showed me the damage. As I was driving down there nothing looked to terrible but once you crossed over the tracks the devastation was emense. I could not belive it. Even though I have looked at hundereds of pictures on the internet nothing can prepare you for what you is really down there.

The piles are taller then me. Just piles of peoples houses on the side of the road.

The house on the left is almost impossible to get to because you have to climb over the all the ruble just to get inside. I'll post more pics over the next few days. But man the picutres do no justice.

Pictures

I've been asked to put up more pictures that I have. I will do it in bits as it is time consuming so there will be more to come and when I go down there on Tuesday I will take tons more. But here are some more for right now.
Ok no where this house which is across the street looks normal to the naked eye, it is not. If you look closley at it you can see it tilting to the side this is because the house floated five feet off of its foundation.
This was a catholic school three blocks away for Danny's house. Danny told me as he was digging through the debree in his yard he was finding lunch trays, meal tickets, stuffed animals and outher stuff from this school.

This is the depree surrounding someones house. It is so high that even though her house is still standing she can barley get into it. By her front door is the second story to someone else house. Not just the roof but the entire second story sitting in her doorstep.

Here is the drive way to someones house. It was on the right hand side where the grass was real green.
The picture above is the foundation to here a house once was. This is just in Long Beach, Mississippi alone right in Danny's neighbor hood. But somehow Danny's house made it through okay. Not sure other then pure luck.
Anyways, onto other subjects. My dog Blue is scared shitliss of rain and storms. If its raining outside he won't go outside to pee he'll just hold it in. During the hurricane, he was flying off the handle. I just couldn't get him to calm down. In this picture you can really see how stressed out blue was.

Who understands animals? Really makes no sense to me. While I was hiding in the hallway scared Blue obviously knew we would be okay. He didn't have a care other then getting in his daily nap.

Well I'll post some more pics tommorow hopefully. Then I am going to the coast Tuesday so I can take more pictures since Danny didn't understand what I said when I said take lots of pictures. He is down there right now ripping stuff up and cleaning up the area. He called me whinning today about how this labor shit sucks. Ha ha its good for him he hasn't worked in awhile and its about time he did something. Yesterday he had to rip wood flooring that had been glued to cement. Better him then me.

I've got karate tommorow. This was supposed to be an easy class. Well after the 50 push ups and 200 sit ups on Wensday I am starting to doubt how easy it will really be. After Wensday I couldn't lift my arms 2 inches. There was some major pain going on. All right till later.

If you look to the back of the picture you can see where the water line stops. The garage is danny's garage and his house is on the right hand side. The house in the back is his grandpa's house.
This is a street near danny's house in long beach. In between all thoose trees there were once houses.
I feel the need to rant and rave for a moment. I am finally gathering how big this hurricane really is. I mean I knew it but I could not grasp it since I was so disconnected from the world for so long. It is so agravating listening to the bitching all these celebirities and people are doing. They are not down here they do not know what life has been like. I am lucky to have been on the outskirts of all this but it has still had such a profound effect on me. But it saddens me that all people can do is bitch about what the government is not doing for them. I love New Orleans, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast was like a second home to me. My heart aches for everyone who is in this mess. I will never forget the night after the hurricane. I sat in the car with Danny and listened to Kicker 108. It was the only radio station that could actually get up and running. All the people calling looking for their loved ones and asking about there homes it was so sad because most of the peoples homes were gone.Danny was lucky his parents home only 3 blocks from the coast remained untouched. I don't know how but it did. The water ran up past his house yet it didn't go in. But he was one of the few that were lucky. Then there are these fucking celebirities using the moment to push their political agendas. It makes me so sick. I am a person who loves their celebirity gossip but now I can barley look at a magazine. While there in the designer studs in their multi-million dollar mansions they critize and yet they do so little. After all its not them, it didn't happen to them and their friends. So many of my friends and their families have lost everything. I can't even coprehend. I know I am ranting and babbling a little bit but I just can not help it.

Anyways, I have tons more pitures which I'll post when I get the energy. I am still trying to get back into the motions of normalcy again. I am going to the coast on Tues. to visit Danny who is working cleaning up the coast right now.

Also thank you to everyone for their prayers and support through this time. You'll never know how much it means to me.

lastest post

Sorry it has taken me so long but I have limited acess to the internet right now. Man you don't know how good it is to have constant internet till you don't have it anymore. I am okay and everything is starting to get back to normal in Hattiesburg. Danny's house is okay somehow were not sure since he lives only blocks from the oceans. I'll post Pictures as soon as I have better internet acess. Thank you to everyone who have helped me out during this storm. This whole experience has been surreal and it is definatly something I will never forget. I hope everyone is doing okay. I'll write a longer post later when I have my own computer with internet.
