My trip to the coast

I went and visitied Danny yesterday and right when I got there her took me south of the railroad tracks and showed me the damage. As I was driving down there nothing looked to terrible but once you crossed over the tracks the devastation was emense. I could not belive it. Even though I have looked at hundereds of pictures on the internet nothing can prepare you for what you is really down there.

The piles are taller then me. Just piles of peoples houses on the side of the road.

The house on the left is almost impossible to get to because you have to climb over the all the ruble just to get inside. I'll post more pics over the next few days. But man the picutres do no justice.

Pictures

I've been asked to put up more pictures that I have. I will do it in bits as it is time consuming so there will be more to come and when I go down there on Tuesday I will take tons more. But here are some more for right now.
Ok no where this house which is across the street looks normal to the naked eye, it is not. If you look closley at it you can see it tilting to the side this is because the house floated five feet off of its foundation.
This was a catholic school three blocks away for Danny's house. Danny told me as he was digging through the debree in his yard he was finding lunch trays, meal tickets, stuffed animals and outher stuff from this school.

This is the depree surrounding someones house. It is so high that even though her house is still standing she can barley get into it. By her front door is the second story to someone else house. Not just the roof but the entire second story sitting in her doorstep.

Here is the drive way to someones house. It was on the right hand side where the grass was real green.
The picture above is the foundation to here a house once was. This is just in Long Beach, Mississippi alone right in Danny's neighbor hood. But somehow Danny's house made it through okay. Not sure other then pure luck.
Anyways, onto other subjects. My dog Blue is scared shitliss of rain and storms. If its raining outside he won't go outside to pee he'll just hold it in. During the hurricane, he was flying off the handle. I just couldn't get him to calm down. In this picture you can really see how stressed out blue was.

Who understands animals? Really makes no sense to me. While I was hiding in the hallway scared Blue obviously knew we would be okay. He didn't have a care other then getting in his daily nap.

Well I'll post some more pics tommorow hopefully. Then I am going to the coast Tuesday so I can take more pictures since Danny didn't understand what I said when I said take lots of pictures. He is down there right now ripping stuff up and cleaning up the area. He called me whinning today about how this labor shit sucks. Ha ha its good for him he hasn't worked in awhile and its about time he did something. Yesterday he had to rip wood flooring that had been glued to cement. Better him then me.

I've got karate tommorow. This was supposed to be an easy class. Well after the 50 push ups and 200 sit ups on Wensday I am starting to doubt how easy it will really be. After Wensday I couldn't lift my arms 2 inches. There was some major pain going on. All right till later.

If you look to the back of the picture you can see where the water line stops. The garage is danny's garage and his house is on the right hand side. The house in the back is his grandpa's house.
This is a street near danny's house in long beach. In between all thoose trees there were once houses.
I feel the need to rant and rave for a moment. I am finally gathering how big this hurricane really is. I mean I knew it but I could not grasp it since I was so disconnected from the world for so long. It is so agravating listening to the bitching all these celebirities and people are doing. They are not down here they do not know what life has been like. I am lucky to have been on the outskirts of all this but it has still had such a profound effect on me. But it saddens me that all people can do is bitch about what the government is not doing for them. I love New Orleans, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast was like a second home to me. My heart aches for everyone who is in this mess. I will never forget the night after the hurricane. I sat in the car with Danny and listened to Kicker 108. It was the only radio station that could actually get up and running. All the people calling looking for their loved ones and asking about there homes it was so sad because most of the peoples homes were gone.Danny was lucky his parents home only 3 blocks from the coast remained untouched. I don't know how but it did. The water ran up past his house yet it didn't go in. But he was one of the few that were lucky. Then there are these fucking celebirities using the moment to push their political agendas. It makes me so sick. I am a person who loves their celebirity gossip but now I can barley look at a magazine. While there in the designer studs in their multi-million dollar mansions they critize and yet they do so little. After all its not them, it didn't happen to them and their friends. So many of my friends and their families have lost everything. I can't even coprehend. I know I am ranting and babbling a little bit but I just can not help it.

Anyways, I have tons more pitures which I'll post when I get the energy. I am still trying to get back into the motions of normalcy again. I am going to the coast on Tues. to visit Danny who is working cleaning up the coast right now.

Also thank you to everyone for their prayers and support through this time. You'll never know how much it means to me.

lastest post

Sorry it has taken me so long but I have limited acess to the internet right now. Man you don't know how good it is to have constant internet till you don't have it anymore. I am okay and everything is starting to get back to normal in Hattiesburg. Danny's house is okay somehow were not sure since he lives only blocks from the oceans. I'll post Pictures as soon as I have better internet acess. Thank you to everyone who have helped me out during this storm. This whole experience has been surreal and it is definatly something I will never forget. I hope everyone is doing okay. I'll write a longer post later when I have my own computer with internet.

I'll try and stay posted till I lose power which will happen eventually. The hurricane will be a cat 1 or 2 when it hits us. Hopefully there is not to much damage.

Hurricane

I am hoping that this storm is not going to be as devastating to New Orleans and the coast as it sounds like its going to be. It's 11:16 right now and in a few hours this area is going to be in a world of hurt and my heart is going out to all the people in danger of the storm. I just hope its turns out okay.

KATRINA

Every time a hurricane is supposed to hit here, i get frenetic nervous then I have my mom call me 80 times an hour to make sure I am surviving okay. And in the end all it is is just a little rain. So this time, I havn't gone to Wal-Mart to buy supplies, I am not nervous, and I don't think it'll be bad here. And I know in the pit of my stomach how WRONG i am. Its coming here no way around it. Maybe it'll change its path at the last minute and head to Mexico, that sure would be nice. But I doubt it. But this time I am going to rebel. I'm not buying supplies and I'm not going to get nervous. Mom you don't have to call me 80,000 times cause it'll be okay. I refuse to watch the news anymore because this afternoon I was watching CNN and he was talking about how the whole MS coast and New Orleans was going down and it is going to be so bad. He predicted that New Orleans would be under water for well over a year. Ha I think if it goes under no one really cares to bring it back out again. I'm not scared though it is not going to hit here. Screw it. What is there really to be scared of a little rain that would flood out my apartment thus ruining everything I own. A little wind tearing everything apart. How about the fact that since I decided not to go to WalMart and buy supplies I will probley starve to death too. Okay maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit but mom if you want to call me that's cool, Cause I'm scared.

trip home

One of the reasons that I have been lagging on my posts is cause I just recently went home for a little R and R. But we did get to spend one day in NYC, the best city in the world! My oh my how I love NYC! We had a good time their. We went to Central Park and relaxed then it was off to FAO which has tottally revamped itself since the last time i'd seen it. It looked pretty damn sweet! Danny got to play with the monkeys their, while I jumped around on the keyboard.
Then we got to do something I have been wanting to do every time I go to New York, go see a play we wanted to see this play........
But since you can't see it for the next 5 years we went and saw another play i have been wanting to see.

And Let me tell you.. it was awesome... I sang and laughed and bounced in my seat like a little kid. I love love love the theatre.

Well After that it was time to go home so we posed for one more pic.......

And said good night to NYC.

Progression of Hair

Sorry it's been awhile since I've written. Nothing has really been going on well that is until tonight.
It all started out of boredom, Danny's hair has become
way to long... Definitely in desperate need of a cut. Well since he's graduated college and needs a real job, we decided to give it a good whacking, or should I say Danny decided I just couldn't bear the thought of his long long locks being gone. After all we've been dating and its all I have ever known!
So away he went cutting away his gorgeous thick and curly hair.

Well he cut and cut, then I wanted to take a turn so I started cutting. Man it was a lot of hair! Pretty Gross huh!
Ya I thought so too. Well since I was cutting I decided I would have fun with it so I made Danny's head into a mullet. You know Business in the front and a party in the back! Whoo hoo and Danny sure can rock the mullet look! Well then we decided we would go over to his cousins Ragan's band pratice and show him Danny's new look. Well Danny threw his cap on and the first thing Ragan did was bitch about Danny's hair and how long it was. Well Danny relectultly took off his cap and wholly hell was Rage surprised! Well after that little Detour we decided to go back to the house and finish what we had started. So we filled the sink up with the rest of his hair
Then after two hours we were
finally done, and here is the final product: And Whalla it is short. I think he likes it, I know I do it is a nice change. But after five years of having long hair I think he is going to miss it. Maybe we'll have a little funeral for his lost locks tomorrow.

Nothing Going on

It's been a few days since my last post, sorry, if anyone even is reading this. Life has been pretty lame the last few days. Lots of work work and more work. Other than that I just read Silent Bob Speaks by Kevin Smith. It is pretty good but a little repetitive at times. He is just a really funny guy though so the book was amusing. Other than that I have been watching the crap out of some West Wing. That show is good especially the first season of it. Also been catching up on my Degrassi. Anyone who has never seen that show needs to watch it. It's about this Candian High School and the kids that go to it. Totally addictive. My old roomates used to hate it and get pissed when I would wait every week to watch it. Now since I have my six channels I don't really get to see it. Boo Hoo. Sorry I am rambling and I know this But i figured at least it was a post. The only other exciting thing going on is my friends are getting hitched on Saturday. Can't belive its actually happening but it is and then Richard has to go away for a year which sucks. Okay I am done babbling. Maybe next time I'll have something more exciting to post. Later Gators..

Sex and The City

Heather and I just finished Sex and The City. We watched all six seasons of it. OH how I love that show. It was sad to end it, but al least I wasn't crying for the last two episodes, which is more then I can say for some people.(ahem Heather!) she was making me laugh so hard with all her boo hooing. She told me shes just so emotinoal right now with the wedding only a week away. I told her she's a sap as I continued to laugh my ass off. I was tearing up because I was laughing so hard at her. Anyways, as always Samatha and Smith profess their love, Miranda gets a family, Charlotte gets her Chinese child and Carrie and Big get together. Never changes no matter how much I've seen it.

What happens when your neighbors decided to clog there toilet and and not tell anyone that theres a problem. There downstairs neighbor has to deal with the consiquences!

I collected that much water in the course of six hours before I could report it to anyone. Man on Man I love my neighbors. They always suprise me with how rude they can be. Just when I think its the last time and there is nothing worse they can do, they figure something else out. Well I've just decided that it's WAR!

Mel Gibson

So Mel Gibson is making a movie about a 500 year old Mexican Culture in mayan dialect. Seriously the man is off his rocker. First he made Passion of the Christ where they had to force him to put subtitles so people could understand that story. When people have too much money they just seriously lose their shit. Look at Kevin Costner he makes Dances with Wolves, wins an Oscar then he goes nuts! First Waterworld, and because that wasn't bad enough and people had a few more dollars to throw away they decided to make The Postman. Now Mel is seriously losing his shit. The only thing Passions had going for it was that the church crowd went to see it in droves. And you know what, I AM HAPPY TO SAY I STILL HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT MOVIE. Who really wants to watch someone get toturted for three hours, i'd personally rather stick needles in my eyes but i guess that's just my preference. But now I think we will finally get to see the fall of Mel Gibson. And since Disney signed on with him there gonna be hurting too. GOOD then maybe people will one day go back to making decent movies.

Gotta Love A Good Nutcase

WHAT A NUTCASE CELEBIRTY! I hate hate Jane Fonda and her quest for attention. The woman needs to stay out of politics and stay in film where she's supposed to. Seriously it aggravates every inch of me that this woman can't keep her thoughts to herself. So now she's gonna drive her vegetable oil bus and annoy the rest of America! Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me. I really wish she would just keep her thoughts to herself. The woman probably has an IQ of zero and she just won't leave things alone. I highly doubt that she is doing this cause she cares about IRAQ. It's more likely that her alimony checks aren't paying for all her designer clothes or her huge mansion (which I’m sure takes tons electricity) and all her other Hybrid piece of shit cars. So now she must go out and press her opinion onto us because the first time she did it she did such a great job. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20050725/D8BIE6HO0.html

HEAT

It is soooo Hot outside. we are under a heat advisory and it sucks. It's 100 degrees. It makes it impossible to want to do anything. Danny and I are planning on going for a bicycle ride but I don't know if I can bare it, I might fall over and pass out from the heat. Ugg it was not to bad until the last two weeks then the tempertaure just soared. Well its supposed to cool off in October so that's only two more months of this :)

Lance's 7th

It's pretty cool that this man has managed to win the tour de france seven times. As a cycling nut I'm loving this just because people are now more aware of what a wonderful sport bicycle racing is. Congratulations Lance. Even though I was pulling for Jan Ullrich I'm still happy you won!

Bachlorette Party - Lets get ready to rumble

We tore up New Orleans last night. First we went to eat at Bubba Gump, where the service was lousy but it was still fun. Then it was off to the neighborhood sex shop to find our dear bride a veil. After we accomplished that the gang headed out to the club to get the party started!
The first stop was the Cat's Meow which is a karyoke/dance club. And we did a little of both.
Then after an exceptional amount of alchol we had had had to go to a strip club. Now don't presume we went to see the fellas, cause we didn't we went and saw some ladies at the Hustler Strip club. Now that was an interesting experience. First a drink with some booze in it is around 11 dollars, but if you decide you would just rather have a soft drink get ready to pay six dollars and this is on top of the ten dollar cover charge at the door. So we paid for our drinks and then watched the ladies do there work. Some of those ladies have some really intriguing moves they perform on the stage. When we got bored there we all decided it was time for some more dancing. So we stumbled out of Hustler and made our way to Razoos. One thing I noticed this night was that there is some appeal for men about a woman who is about to be married. Heather got hit on so much, we couldn't do anything without guys trying to come up to us and chit chat and give us some line. My favorite of the night was when we were standing together in the street and a guy came up and asked who was getting married. What a moron. Any way after some more dancing we decided it was time to call it a night or a morning since it was close to 5 am. So we hailed a cab and went home. What an amusing night. I am so glad we got to do this for Heather. Oh and a side note boas and heat do not mix. I had a boa which managed to turn me into a member of the blue man group by the time the night was through.
